Hello? Uhm, is there anybody out there?!! Do I even have readers?

That’s me. That sad lonely tree in the pretty pasture all by itself. S’not so bad.  *sniff sniff

Ok, I know I have readers. A few, yes, very limited few but I know people read my blog. My dashboard tells me so. I get to see how people find me and my most favoritest so far was a search for “weird looking teeth, long roots,” this obviously being a nod to my gum surgery. Hello weird tooth searcher, welcome! 🙂

However, I have only 2 regular commenters.

This gives me a complex, like a big complex. I was never a thumb sucker but it makes we want to crawl under my desk, start sucking my thumb and stare wildly at the floor with one, twitchy eye. It sometimes makes me feel like I write my blog for no other reason than my own personal amusement..which is actually fairly accurate so no biggy there.

However, I grew up the youngest child BY FAR in a family and one growing up as such, tends to feel as though they are NEVER heard, like their opinions don’t matter or count…or maybe that’s just me.

It’s difficult for me to not jump up and down and say “listen to MEEEEE!!!”

So here is my plea, oh cyber readers of the blog universe; tell me your out there, and tell me when you read my blog!

Anything! Tell me what you like! Tell me what you DON’T like. I promise not to be offended.

If you think I’m a complete typographically laden, ignoramus who has dumb ideas about everything and has no idea how to cook, you go right ahead and share that with me! 😀

I want to know about you, knowing you exist would be an fantubulous start!

Tell me about your obese cat or your odd fascination with toe jam or how, you wet your bed until the age of…well maybe keep that one to yourself but share, share with the group!

I came very close to hosting a give-away a week or so ago, and then panicked and realized how incredibly embarrassing it would be if there was no one to give the give-away to! Ohh the humanity!

Did you know my own parents, even my own SISTERS don’t read my blog?! Messed up right?! Matt will brows it occasionally, the twerp.

So, instead of giving you a cake recipe today (which I forgot to upload the pictures to but we’ll pretend you don’t know that), I’m send out my pathetic plea for some love. I was starved for attention as a child, it’s really very sad.

So I repeat, is there anybody out there?!

Hello? Is this thing on?

Adam’s Farm Part II: My Loot

As you know from my last post on Adam’s Farm, I recently found myself out of meat and needing to take a journey out to Athol to re-stock.

I just wanted to share my loot with you so that you fully understand the awesomeness that is this place.

I brought it all home and laid out my catch on Matt’s work bench like a kid admiring their Halloween booty. (as in ‘Pirate’s Booty’…’loot’. Oh never mind)

I ended up with the following: Continue reading

Roasted Sagebrush Chicken

Isn’t it great when you can con your friends into traveling out to YOUR house for their birthday? I think it is.

My friend Stacy finally turned the big 2-5! Welcome to my hell Stac! 🙂

Any-who I lured her out to my house with promises of a fabulous home cooked meal…and roasted beets (I turned her on to them a few years ago and now she’s in love)..and a homemade cake but THAT post will be on another day – I can only do so much people! Continue reading

The “Smoked Dinner”

Matt has a smoking problem.

Ok so it’s not really a problem, it’s quite a fantastic and delicious little obsession.

What am I talking about? Smoking meats on the grill of course! Continue reading

Pantry Chicken Stir Fry Over Quinoa

Ok, Ok so maybe we should call it “kitchen stock stir fry” but somehow, it just dosen’t have the same ring to it does it?

I call this “Pantry” Chicken Stir Fry because this is one of those go-to meals that I make where I always have all of the ingredients stocked in my kitchen, no grocery shopping required.

This is fast, healthy and delicious. You know, I’m funny about chicken stir fry, because I know it’s always there, always just waiting to be made, I ignore it, it’s really quite rude of me. And yet, whenever I do make it, usually out of desperation, I inevitably find myself saying, “you know, I should make this more often!” Continue reading

Next Week’s Menu: Sneek Peek!

TPW_9464

Sour Cream Noodle Bake. The Pioneer Woman.com

Just thought you might be interested in my menu for next week…I’m even starting to spill into the week AFTER that because there are so many thing I want to make!

Here’s the plan:

  • Sunday: Pot Roast with Carrots, Mushrooms & Onions cooked in red wine & tomato paste (SUPER decadent and how I usually make my roasts) Served with Mashed Potatoes
  • Monday: (Day Off 🙂 )Roasted Chicken with Roasted Beets and Mashed Potatoes. Yellow Cake with Raspberry, Orange and Whipped Cream Frosting for dessert my friend is coming over for her birthday and I have been promising her this cake, a variation on a favorite from her childhood, for probably a good 3 years!..oh and I got her hooked on roasted beets too so those are a given 😉
  • Tuesday: Cheesy Leftovers & Rice Casserole! I’m planning on taking any leftover chicken, adding some of the leftover veggies cut up and mixing them with brown rice, cream of mushroom soup, a little Chobani and some cheese. Sounds good to me!
  • Wednesday: Baked Falafel with Tatziki Sauce. Now that I have my falafel from my trip to Ed’s, I need to use it! It’ll be meatless Wednesday! 🙂
  • Thursday: Sour Cream Noodle Bake. Thanks Pioneer Woman! The CookinFanatic made this a few weeks ago, she beat me to it after seeing it on the Pioneer Woman’s site and I now I have to make it!
  • Friday: Pizza. uhh, theres a reason I stocked up on frozen pizza last week! It’s pizza and wine Friday night! I’m thinking maybe either Hawaiian or garden veggie.
  • Saturday: Frittatas (and lots of them, I’ll be decorating Easter Eggs with Friends!) and possible some Potato, Bacon and Leek Pizza courtesy of the Pioneer Woman’s Cookbook (I broke down and bought it online yesterday after previewing it from the library).

Now here’s  a preview of what I’m thinking for the following week. I’ll be starting my new job and I haven’t the slightest clue what my hours will be like so I’m keeping the planning light for now until I get a feel for it 🙂

~Meditteranean Pasta salad with grilled greek chicken, orzo, feta and roasted cherry tomatoes (mmmm)

~Thanksgiving Casserole with Turkey Meatballs, Turkey Gravy and Stuffing served with mashed potatoes and green beans. (uhm hello, tell me this isn’t a good idea! No really, just try to tell me, I will probably laugh at your silliness)

~Homemade Fish Sticks (I’ve seen no less than 4 posts on oven baked cod or fish sticks in the last 2 weeks…I think it’s time I made some!) with baked Chipotle Honey Sweet Potato “Fries”

aaand that’s all I have for the moment. I still have a lot of recipes in my stack at home to look through so as soon as I know, I’ll let YOU know! I just thought I’d give you a little something to look forward to for next week. 😉

Ok, I’m off to write my grocery list now, tootles!

Happy dining everyone!

Tell me, do you ever plan your dinners for the week? Or do you just like wing it? Share with the group please! 🙂

Adam’s Farm

Wow, I’m really pumping out the endorsements on here lately!

It’s really because I haven’t made much in the recipe department worth noting recently, all because my meat supply is running RA-THAR low. Which, in turn, bring me to Adam’s Farm.

I’m planning on making a trip there on Saturday and with good reason.

You may have heard me mention Adam’s Farm before but let me tell you what, where and why. Continue reading
